X-stream newbie - dumb Lightwave ??

#1

I just installed X-stream - upgraded from Vue-5 infinite. There’s a VueSynch plugin that was basically the same plugin that I used to use with 5 infinite. It works fine, I can synch the camera, but that’s not what I bought Xstream for. I could have done that with Infinite. I bought Xstream because it was supposed to “integrate” with Lightwave.

I thought I was supposed to be able to load Vue scenes in LW. The manual has no information on this. Stupid question, but how do you open a vue scene in LW?

If I remember correctly, you must install the xstream plugin, this is a seperate plug-in and not the same as you have allready installed, in LW’s plugin-directory and then load it from inside LW. You can then see vue’s terrains and plants from within LW.

Thats correct. You can download the plugin from your account on e-on site.
Install the plugin selecting Lightwave as the sync application and you should be up and running.

Ok, thanks. I’ll check the website. Seems like it would have been a little more streamlined to simply put the plugin on the installation CD(s) I purchased or to inform the user that they had to go to a website to download the plugin.

I’ll go search the website for the plugin, though I don’t remember seeing any links for it when I searched before.

It should be on the cd, along with the plug-ins for the other supported 3D-apps. But if you go to their web-page you would find the latest version of it, and the latest patch for the program itself.

Questions:

  1. Is the integration seemless, where what I see in Xtream is what I see in Lightwave.
Can someone post screen shots and rendered image from within Lightwave. I would like to see how it looks. A video would be even sweeter.
