not bad
the 2nd plane looks a bit weird, could use some wrework when comes to perspective.this kind of blur kinda ruins the distance feeling.
also, the textures are nice , but seems like its not working properly, theres no feeling of the actual material, no light and stuff.
keep going

Nice looking plane but the blurring of the second one seems strange. The textures could have used some more detail too.
Good job though.

#4

Did you ask for Paul Reitsmas permission to use his photo?

#5

i found this photo on google so … and the model is mine

Need some work on the materials for it and the lighting could be more dramatic. A more interestign angle is nice. Soem ofthe best pics of modern planes are by songbird he has a sense of drame by using interesting angles and using a camera that has a wider angle. the modeling itself looks pretty good.

Well this is a bit OT but…
Just because you find something on the net doesn’t meen that you can copy it and use it. I recognized the photo because I’m also using it after having asked the photographers permission.

bazze:
photograph of what ? a sky ? are you serious ?

silvius:
I think the texture distracts far too much from the form of your plane. Its hard to see past the ‘extreme cammo’ and recognise the actual shapes of your design. Also the blur effect you have applied is not working simply because you have not blurred the clouds either.

#9

I personally think that is the polite/correct thing to do.

#10

sure bazze in most cases you are right. I agree. But in this case the image is so unspecific it could be anyone’s photo ! I have a bucket load of photos like this i took myself out of plane windows ! … this is also non commercial work. If this image was going to pasted all over times square then yeah the rules might shift a bit, but in this case i think its no problem at all.

#11

the bottom line is, if u arent selling the work, and you dont take credit for the photo, it doesnt matter.

#12

I agree with most what has been said.

The urban camouflage is actually great, since it does exactly what camouflage is supposed to do, destroy geometry and make an object unrecognizable to the human eye.

The problem is, the texture destroys your 3D model and makes your plane look two-dimensional.

Also, there is a difference between heat blurr and motion blurr. Not sure what you were trying to do. Photoshop is another tool that takes a lot of time to master. Don’t give up.

(As for the background image, there’s a thing called “fair use,” which allows anybody to use a fraction of someone’s work without having to ask for permission first. What Silvius should have done is give proper credit to the photographer.)

How about posting some wireframe shots of your plane. I'd love to see what it looks like without the texture and background? :)

here is a wireframe rendrings of the x-0
