These are the final drawings of several of my Otis College of Art Life Drawing I (freshman) students. They did a great job and I am particularly proud of these examples of their work:

Following the conclusion of my first semester at Otis, I was happy to have a little time to do some of my own work. Just a few figurative traditional / digital experimental pieces with which I was happy:

A particularly beautiful piece by my adult student at Brentwood Art Center, where I just wrapped up several classes. This is from my Drawing Fundamentals class - the student had had no prior drawing experience:

Thanks for looking! In Spring 2009 I am looking forward to teaching a painting class at Brentwood and a character / creature based life drawing class within the digital department at Otis. If you would like to see my students’ future work, you can follow it on my teaching blog:

Happy Holidays and have a great 2009. :)

Wow!
Your students are very talented!
Who are they?
Perhaps they also have a blog or online gallery somewhere?
Would be nice to be able to give them a few words of praise and encouragement
These drawings only make me wish I hadn’t waisted 20 years of my life by not drawing O_o
Best of luck for the future!
Hi Rebecca, long time no see i know, looks like it has been a busy time for you anyway, nice to see your students work, obviously they had a great teacher! the drawings by your students at Otis on this page especially impressive, and your work too of course, really nice job, i also liked your oil sketch…
anyway, have a lovely time over the Christmas period, and may i wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
hope things go even better for you in 2009!

WOW!!:drool::drool::drool::drool: What a great year, Rebecca!! I just envy your students!
this thread does not really help me coping with the atlantic ocean and the bible belt plus the Rocky Mountains…
If I were you I’d be bursting with pride and self-satisfaction: you did such a great job as a teacher.
Anand stole my words…you’re an awesome teacher that is so evident by the successes of your students. Wish I could be your student
Johan, thanks, they are! Well, generally speaking most students don’t want their name online…I’m sure that were I to ask each person and seek permissions, some wouldn’t mind, but for the most part people want to remain anonymous. I did however create a blog for one of my students, but the photos are mine and I did all the posting. ^^ The link is here:

It doesn’t look like you’re wasting any time now, so I don’t think you need to worry.
krispee, nice to hear from you! Thanks for your feedback, the Otis students I agree did some really nice work. I hope you have a great holiday as well and a Happy New Year!
Anand, thanks so much! I envy you!! ^^ Cheers for dropping by.
Magda, thank you! I really enjoyed working with these guys.
Mu, thanks a lot!
PS - there’s not Bible Belt in CA ^^
prettyh8machine, thank you! I think you can push yourself in your studies…I know I had to, for a long time, before I started teaching. It can be a hard road, but stick with it!
Cheers for the comments guys.

Hi Rebecca! Thanks for explaining and posting that link.
Perhaps we will hear from those huge talents when they feel the time is ripe
Our teachers never draw in class O_o
So I’m gonna keep coming to this thread every now and then…
Hey Johan, probably the better place to see future student work is my teaching blog:
http://mirrorbooks.blogspot.com/
I try to keep that updated pretty often, but probably won’t update this thread for a while. Thanks for your interest!
