10% Beautiful Camera Work/Cinematography
10% Brilliant Coreography
20% Weak Uninteresting Story
20% Horrible Soundtrack/Score
20% Innanely Predictable Plot Twists
10% Rediculous Blood Fountains
10% Missing Something

I have loved every film QT has done, until now… this was so tedious that I turned it off 3 times… I just kept hoping that it would get good. It didn’t. [/B]

WHAT!!!

The soundtrack was great!!! it made like 40% of the movie!!!
Well at least in my opinuon
I too watched it couple of days ago… havent decided on the other 60% yet… =)
But the fontains sucked thats for sure. I should have skipped them or made them even bigger to create som splatterfilm effect or something

Kill Bill is on this list? Ooookaaaaaaaaaaaay.

When you say a movie like the Matrix is ‘the worst film ever made’ it makes all of your other arguments extremely suspect, even if they are made about a movie like Pearl Harbour. Speaking of which, it may be the Hollywood, comic-book-history version of WWII, and a given actor may not have done anything memorable in it, but that definitely doesn’t make it the worst film ever made.

#484

not for nothin…but “feeders 2” is definatly a strong contender…for the longest time it was my belife that “c.h.u.d 2” was infact the worst movie ever made, yet my bubble was viloently smashed the day “feeders 2” was brouht to my atention this movie is so bad its classified a biohazerd unfit for consumption by even the american movie going public,I feel its awfule powers are drawn from the fact that there is a “feeders 1”…Id sooner watch “pumpkin head 2” on a nonstop loop for the rest of eternity before endureing the visual assault that is this movie…run and hide, the end is nye

note the link is to feeders one, as feeders2 is such a abalmanation that even IMDB will not reconise it as ever existing

I am presuming this refers to my post…I didn’t actually say I thought the Matrix as the worst film ever made, I said I thought it was very bad… but please do elucidate why my opinion on the Matrix should ‘invalidate’ my opinion of Pearl Harbour.

#488

Ugh, 28 Days Later is now on my list.

#489

Nano, thank you.

I highly doubt its one of the worst movies ever, just a huge disappointment to the hype it recieved.

#490

Heh. Well it’s pretty bad when you can almost scientifically measure a lot of the problems it had.

Why was it hyped?

#491

I gotta disagree with Nano and Gav,

I loved 28 days later, it sits proudly on my DVD shelf, I thought it was absolutely fantastic…what don’t you like about it?

#492

Basically i didn’t like it because it was hyped up to be an amazing zombie movie above all the rest, anyone i talked to said it was scary as hell (probably the the scariest horror movie in years) and that it was basically a masterpeice…i just don’t agree with that. My fiance and I went on opening night, she’s a wuss and didn’t even flinch at the movie. I invisioned it to be like a way better version Resident Evil: The Movie.

They used the same tactics to try and freak you out (i.e. things jumping through widows, odd camera movements)

Bah…i was enjoying it up until they met the army guys…i’d like to see the non-american version…maybe thats better?

In my opinion, to say “28 Days Later” is the worst film ever made is either a bold exaggeration or lack of exposure to film in general. Though it may not have floated everybody’s boat, it was executed with prowess in many aspects of production, making it rise above films that are inept from top to bottom.

My main gripe with the film is that it’s second half, the survivors suffering under the rule of a facist military unit, is a direct lift from Romero’s “Day of the Dead”. Though in that film the threat of sexual violence against the woman protaganist was more of a implied undercurrent of mailce, rather than the very blunt and physical threat in “28 Days Later”.

Agreed ,

have you seen the alternate ending? I would have preferred it if they have gone that route instead.

From my point of view, “28 days later” fell flat. There was a hint of potential in the foundation of the story, but there were a lot of problems.

There were no established guidelines for the “infected” characters, so their actions were not believable, and worse, they weren’t scary. It was almost laughable.

The protagonists had even less foundation, and there was no reason to care about what happened to them. They were undeveloped and unlikeable. Their actions were random, without motivation, and it was obvious that most of their choices were not derived from their character, but rather what they must do to make the next plot point happen. A real no-no in good scriptwriting.

The notion that the small military group that the sought refuge with turned out to be the worst enemy of all could have been interesting, but there was nothing to make that turn of events a surprise to the audience. They were unlikeable from the start, and since I was not emotionally invested in any of the characters, I started rooting for the zombies just because it was the only way I could entertain myself watching this movie.

Finally, it seemed like more than half the movie was spent watching them driving around, or walking around, or having a picnic, and there was no tension. this was supposed to be an edge-of-your-seat horror, but it played like an art-house movie like Amelie or something like that.

Agreed Eric, i think to even call them “zombies” is stretching the truth…when i think “zombie” i think of like, unkillable brain dead creatures shuffling their way towards you. Innovation is a great thing, and everyone has their own take on it…but…i dunno…

Speaking of alternate endings, has anyone seen “The Master of Disguise” ? and if so…have you seen the alternate ending with him as Captain America?

Nope, I have not seen it yet.

I thought the move was pretty good. And I hate to subscribe to my most loathed of standpoints, that of “lowered expectations”…however, horror is so hard to do, and what has been passed off of late as “horror” is so weak, that a fairly competent, not stellar entry such as “28 Days Later” wet my appetite just enough.

And why am I inside on a beautiful day? Hung over as hell.

I wish I could agree with you about the execution of the film, but unfortunately I do not. It’s like the film couldn’t decide if it wanted to be more like a documentary or a movie that tells a story. Because of this, I really couldn’t tell what exactly was motivating the characters. In many places, I couldn’t believe the characters making the decisions they did. (Like driving the taxi into the tunnel…) The whole movie struck me as ameteurish and derivitive. I hope this doesn’t come off as insulting, that isn’t my goal, it’s just what I felt about this movie.

don’t know if its been mentioned before…

dumb adn dumberer… total waste of my life…

2 hours i could have used to dosomething more productive (probably not…) …

It’s like the film couldn’t decide if it wanted to be more like a documentary or a movie that tells a story.

Thats probably due to the cinematography, as a lot of it was shot handheld, and quickly. They did some of the scenes in like 10 minutes time, as though the movie was made in 1 day. Haven’t seen anything that can beat that, especially with that budget.
Documentaries Btw also hav a storyline, everything has. Without it its just celluloid, or in this case, DV.

I was kind of anticipating Dawn of the Dead, and i think it was allrigth, but it lacked a bit of depth. I liked 28 Days later better.
