Well, I don’t hate my paycheck – as long as it’s a hefty amount! :stuck_out_tongue:

Just kidding!

I didn’t see “Paycheck,” but I will say that I hate it because I hate Ben Affleck with a passion. I’m ashamed to say that “Daredevil” was his best work.

You didn’t like him in Dogma?

#384

There is only one TERRIBLE movie in my opinion and it’s SWAT

#385

chasing amy, good will hunting, malrats

allg ood imo

dogma i didn tlike to much. And jay and silent bob wasnt to great either, tho Jays line “YOU WERE THE BOMB IN PHANTOMS” was really funny and sums up his career choices pretty well.

ben afflek can be ok, but its a rarity sadly.

but hey…hes rich, must be doing something right.

Actually, and I’m embarassed to admit, I didn’t see “Dogma.” Just never got a chance to. But I’m sure Alan Rickman is the one to like in that one!

I have a new winner:
TORQUE

What were they thinking? This is by far the worst script I have seen on the big screen, the worst acting, dialog, motivation, you name it. BAD, really bad.

So I’m guessing you don’t have cable. Comedy central seems to be showing it every other day.

for me it’s Counterstrike.

a mate of mine lent it to me when i was bored and… well… if there’s a word for being even more bored than just plain bored, then I was it.

that movie was BORN to be a 4pm channel 5 movie… one of those movies that noone watches cos theyre out at work or watching paint dry or something else more stimulating.

that movie was so horrifically dull and badly made that I actually spent a good 20 mins thinking about what I was gonna have for breakfast the next day. 20 MINS!

also, perhaps the Streetfighter movie. i loved that game and they just totally abused it! although it did have kylie in it as far as i remember…

Just saying that someone that doesn’t like it because they must have not understood it makes someone come off as a snob. I know that isn’t the case here but to hear that just thrown out there because you liked the movie and then turn around and slam others doesn’t help your case…even if it is Leprechaun in the hood/space/blender.

Did I say I liked the movie? I didn’t. This is a question of priorities. I could argue that it’s a bit snobbish to disregard all the truly crappy movies from consideration. It’s like sitting in a 5-star restaurant, discussing bad food. “I think this Sauce Bearnaise has curdled, and the wine has cork-dust…” Meanwhile across the city, some college student is trying to heat frozen hamburgers in his toaster…

To be a true contender IMO the movie must suffer (and suffer a lot) in all categories: music, lighting, editing, cinematography, acting, writing, make up, clothing, props, locations, gaffering and best-boying, etc etc etc…

And as for Good Will Hunting, it’s not my favourite movie at all, wouldn’t want to see it again… but I liked a few things about it. I liked Robin taking down the prodigy a notch, I felt for the old math professor (Stellan Skarsgard, brilliant swedish actor) I could feel his Salieri-like despair and pain, I liked Minnie Driver’s acting, especially when she was on the phone and he ditched her, etc…

Now maybe you want to explain how it could ever possibly be in the same category as “American Justice League” (check out the review link I posted).

I think that a large part of why people might percieve it as being so bad is that they had such high expectations for it and the let down was crushing. If you go to watch a B movie then you are expecting it to suck, thus it’s not that bad. But, if you go a see a movie that had great ratings, the previews are awesome, and all your friends tell you its fantastic, and then you find out it sucks… well, then it’s like dropping a weak egg from a low height vs drpping a strong egg from the Empire State building- the first one will obviously make a splatter, but when the second hits ::BAM:: egg goes flying everywhere.

You mean like:

Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989)
…aka Jungle Heat (1989/II) (USA)
…aka Piranha Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989) (USA)

I think Paycheck qualifies under most of those criteria;)

Yes! That’s what I’m talking about! Mystery Science Theater 3000 material.

Disappointment… Yeah you’re right, that’s it. I’ve been disappointed in movies too, many times. And I did feel angry because of it. It’s a kind of emotional payback when we hate a movie that let us down.

The anticipation, it’s usually created by audience-buzz, critics, media. Sometimes it’s just created by us, because we love a certain actor, story or director. It’s an emotion, only really exists in our minds. We have a choice, we don’t have to give in to it. Afterwards, we also have a choice, we don’t have to get angry.

If more people knew how incredibly difficult it is to make a movie without any major flaws, there would be less aniticipation. IMO it’s the single most difficult human endeavour attempted this often… very few on this board could make a movie better than LaserBlast or Cannibal Women.

allright, time to kick this baby back to the living. I have good reasons.

I’ve just seen the no 1 worst movie.

Legion of fire: Killer ants.

wanna see a movie where just everything is bad? go rent it. crap, I feel like someone stole 2 hours. I know it’s cliche but it just feels that way. It’s even worse because on another channel was “die hard with a vengeance” which I missed because of this.

Don’t wanna talk about it, just remember the title.

#396

TORQUE.
MST3K movies at least have the honor of being funny and having not wasted $50 million dollars.
It’s just god awful. Every single aspect. The script, acting, “direction”. UGGGGH.
Maybe not the worst ever, but the worst in recent memory.

#397

Star Wars Episode 2, The attack of the clones.

#398

2 days ago, i saw an episode (the whole film is 2 episodes) of “20 000 miles under the sea” with michael caine and some other not-so-well-known-anymore actors… whoa! just when i asked myself when this torture is going to end, the last frame stopped and the sentence appeared: “end of episode 1”… unbelievable nonsense at its best.

#399

Did i mention that every film with Jeff Fahey in it sucks??

Did i mention that the same goes for Gary Busey, and Michael Biehn, who both really played in 1 decent movie.

Did i mention that Bubba Ho-tep is one of the best movies ever?

I saw one the other night called “Vulgar” taht was about a clown. It was brilliantly done, but not the kind of thing you want to watch. It made my stomache turn in several places, and the ending offered little emotional resolution. It was a horrible experience, but I think that shows how good of a job they did on it.

Certainly not one of the worst films, but watching it is one of the worst film-watching experiences.
