Worst films ever made

Pearl Harbor…

I agree, watching it was like being tortured. I would have been bearable if they cut the length of the movie in half.
Another really bad movie I saw was “jesus son”. Really awful, slow movie about nothing.

The Matrix sequels do it for me. Also most Steven Seagal junk. (…) Honorable mention would have to be any formulaic Adam Sandler tour de force

Now I like quite a few Adam Sandler movies, even though I don’t really care for him. But I liked “Happy Gilmore,” “Little Nicky,” and “Anger Management.” That last one was mostly for Jack Nicholson. And “Little Nicky” had some pretty cool fx and some funny concepts. I liked how heaven looked like Candyland.

Didn’t like “Big Daddy,” hated “Billy Madison,” and never bothered seeing “The Waterboy.”

And considering I didn’t like the first “Matrix,” the second two were even worse.

Don’t have time to watch Steven Segal junk, so I guess that’s my two cents.

good point. I never saw the movie but all of the previews I saw it seemed that he did a pretty good job. But, to be honest, I only go to the theatre once, sometimes twice a year and I never rent- I just have to wait til I catch it on one of the non-premium (ie TNT,TBS,USA,etc) cable stations unless I happen to be in a nice hotel with expensive cable. So, really, I havn’t seen enough movies to be an accurate judge.

Damn, I was trying so hard to forget that one!! (come to think of it I do remember the girl though … )
People should leave Adam Sandler out of this thread, Mr.Deeds was great! Mention Jim Carrey and I won’t object.

I tried to read just about all posts (only the movie names

Here are some objections:

Somebody mentions “Snatch”. Oh boy. To call it a worst-movie-ever needs real dedication not to like movies at all, and cannot solely be explained by personal taste. Snatch is one of the best movies ever in my list. It may be even “bad” for some, but worst???.

Somebody else mentions Robocop 2 and 3. I agree with 3. CRAP beyond belief! But 2, no. It was a good one, that just didn’t live up to the legendary Robocop 1.

Now: My 1 or 2 bits, I won’t come up with 30 movies, but a few with “almost” reasonable reasons

Bad, and don’t watch:
Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion-
Oh my. The plot and the messages given between the lines made me wanna puke. -spoiler start- In the end the popular girls and boys of high-school all marry poor husbands and wives and continously make children. The two stupid woman find rich partners, whom at first they don’t like at all and make fun of at the reunion party, but once they learn how rich they are, they have a sudden change of heart, and this is supposed to be a good thing -spoiler end- Also, there were so many little bits that drove me mad…

Bad, but see it for yourself:
Vertical Limit-
So many inconcistencies within itself. Visually stunning. That’s why it deserves to be on this list. You have so good visuals and you ruin it completely with an awful scenario: if you do the wrong thing like I did and start thinking wisely during the movie, you cannot enjoy the visuals anymore.

Bad, see it for yourself:
Independence day-
I’ll get past the U.S. propaganda, it is so obvious that it is not dangerous (doesn’t secretively do it like in loads of others)
B]-spoiler start-[/B] But the moment they “uploaded” a virus in the mothership of the E.T’s, I felt awful. This not only means they have fully reverse engineered their operating system including network protocols and their assembly code (or maybe they just compiled with Borland  ), but also found the necessary security holes to upload the virus, argh… -spoiler end- I couldn’t get past this.

Good movie with the worst ending:
Signs
You make a movie that does thrill and make people wonder till the end, and then you shock them with the stupidest of endings: -spoiler start- Creatures who get burned instantly by the most abundant element on earth which they are trying to overtake, who are clever enough for inter-stellar transport, but have the awful habit as exhibitionism (they simply go naked in public :=), and they can’t leave this habit even on earth so we can spray’em death with a simple hose -spoiler end- Oh boy. I felt betrayed and frustrated at the end of it. Imagine one of’em caught in rain. Which does happen quite often in our beloved planet.

Worst, everybody should watch it, bar none.
Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam-
I come from Turkey where the worst of the worst emerged :“the man who saved the world.”. This is movie so bad, that it became a cult movie. Really. Actually, it is so at the extreme of being bad, that you don’t need to call it “bad”, just like you don’t think when you are breathing. Everybody needs to see this.

The most recent worst film champion i’ve seen is Cabin Fever. Worst in every aspect. Even that of disgust.
I can’t believe people spend money to produce that crap. (and i can’t believe i felt compeled out of boredom to go see it.)
As for past worst movies, their memory is deeply burried in my subconscious. Better not bring them back to surface…

Not to get into a debate or anything, but you probably just didn’t get Cabin Fever. There’s a lot going on that you wouldn’t notice unless you were a fan of 80’s horror movies. Friday the 13th, Evil dead, etc…

It’s an homage to films of that type in that time period, and there’s a real sick sense of humor about the film. It is kind of bad, in a way, but intentionally so – and you have to admit, you have no idea what’s going to happen next. It went places (especially in the last 20 minutes) that I just didn’t see coming.

It’s not like BF Earth, where Travolta thought he was making the next Star Wars.

So, it’s a fact that BF earth is a piece of crap. Cabin fever being bad is like, your opinion.

Okay for me it’s cut and dry, literally the worst movie I’ve ever seen (well I didn’t even finish it):

Deep Shock

:scream:

It’s such a huge mound of feces that it threatens to create a fecal singularity sucking in all who dare enter its event horizon…

I mean the soundtrack drowned out the “dialogue” for starters. The acting was mortifying, and the FX, well the less said about that the better! Every single facet of this movie was crap. I usually like watching crappy movies but Deep Shock…it was unwatchable.

 :surprised

BF is legendary bad.

Thanks for the warning on Deep Shock… almost rented it the other night.

You can be sure that i’ll quote you on that some time in the near future.

Worst movie ever?

Batman and Robin.

No contest.

#371

I just saw Daredevil on cable TV. That movie is an absolute obscenity, an insult to the craft of film making. Just really putrid crap and the worst movie I guess I’ve ever seen. Well I only watched two thirds of it, but that was two thirds too much. I’m usually very tolerant of even very bad films and for me not to watch the ending of something is very rare. Not that I would blame it on Ben Aflack (mostly it was the horrible screenplay, awful direction, and shamelessly endless use of the cheesiest film school gimics) but man he is in some of the worst movies ever.

#372

Double post, sorry.

Coincidence? I think not. Let’s face it. Ben Affleck is one bad actor. I tried to like him but every movie I’ve seen him in has been terrible. It comes down to the fact that it’s Ben that ruins celluloid without any help from other factors.:hmm:

This thread cracks me up. Just thought I’d throw one in that I had to endure watching many times when I was working at a video store (yeah, I’m old).

I don’t know. I liked him in “Dogma”, “Chasing Amy”, and “Goodwill Hunting”. Not any of his more recent releases though.

c.h.u.d 2…i win worst movie ever

#378

Haven’t read all 26 pages, sorry if it’s been mentioned…

Leprechaun 3 (the one where he’s in Las Vegas)

and - even worse:

Leprechaun 4 - now he’s in space, there are flesh-eating aliens, and somehow the little guy turns into a giant at the end. And the incredibly creative surprise ending: he’s tricked into an airlock, shot into space and explodes. Huh, what happened to his magical powers? Oh, well, no serious harm done, fairly confident we can look forward to Leprechaun 5 some day.

edit:
I went back and looked at a few pages randomly. Man… sorry to repeat myself, but: Guys! Sense of perspective!
Anyone who lists a movie that cost more than doubledigit millions, with at least one major star, in this thread, has either misunderstood the title, or don’t care cause they want to vent. Or they just haven’t seen a lot of movies.
Worst films ever. Come on. Good Will Hunting? Snatch?
Go here
read that, to calibrate your crapometers properly. (It’s hilarious too.)

#379

Hi Stahlberg, Good will hunting and Snatch are not bad movies, let alone being worst, like you said. Snatch is on my top ten best movie list, quoting myself on snatch: “To call it a worst-movie-ever needs real dedication not to like movies at all, and cannot solely be explained by personal taste.”. It is true there are some extreme posts here, like the word “worst” itself is extreme.

Some people of course went for their personal choice of bad movies, instead of seeking the universally bad ones.

However, I strongly disagree that high budget and superstar actor can save a movie from being really, really bad.

Cheers

Go

Have you seen Good Will hunting? I’m open to you telling me why it is good because I’m sure someone couldn’t have spent a buttload of someone elses money on something that wasn’t. I’ve heard just as many people say they hated it sa the ones that liked it. None of them just burped up they hated it, everyone had reasons. Just saying that someone that doesn’t like it because they must have not understood it makes someone come off as a snob. I know that isn’t the case here but to hear that just thrown out there because you liked the movie and then turn around and slam others doesn’t help your case…even if it is Leprechaun in the hood/space/blender.

…oh yeah and that big stars never work on a movie that is a stinker. That recent Mike Meyers classic was a great example of that in action.

 <—the main point of this, having fun.
