I create graphics and place them in a specific hard drive ( I made it jsut for graphics) at work. This one guy keeps asking me if the graphic I made for him is on that drive.:surprised
My answer: “Yes, [insert name of co-worker] it’s in the same hard drive that I’ve been putting the graphics in for the last 5 years.”
Comes back next day and and asks the same question.

FYI: It’s the ONLY hard drive that has graphics on it. Why can’t he understand!!???

My bad, how do I delete? Sorry!

#344

Whoa, deja vu! I think I just read that message like a few times before. How do you do that?

#345

it’s fixed now

don’t EVER let it happen again, I don’t take pleasure in deleting the same post over and over again. hehe

Thanks Equinoxx! You da man! It won’t happen again, I swear! Wasn’t fun for me either.
Supervlieg: I hit the submit reply button but nothing happened. My computer here is so dang slow. I clicked it trying to send it through but I had no idea that it already went through. CGTalk had a “server is busy” message right afterwards so maybe that’s why it didn’t seem like it was going through.

I get customers sending me photos via e-mail to enlarge and print as iron-on transfers. Here is a few good ones:
Can you open up J-Pegs?

Can I bring it on Zip disk?

Can you enlarge my girlfriend’s head (which is three mm tall in the photograph) to an 11 by 17? (inches).

How big are your 11 by 17 transfers?

Don’t even get me started on trying to explain embroidery digitizing files with file extensions such as .POF or .DST.

But the craziest is when I get a 1.4 meg .gif file in my inbox… 120 pixels high and 80 pixels wide.:surprised

Whenever Im down and have gotten shreaded to pieces by someone regarding my work I just mail it to mom and dad and ask them what they think, I doubt it would matter if i send them a cube they would still think it was fantastic. It works every time and always get my in a happier mood to be able to deal with deadlines clients and all that crap

So I am sitting next to this girl in a 3D seminar, I start talking to her and find out that she is going into 3D animation. Anyway the seminar starts and the guy demonstrates how to do an extrude on an object, he then proceeds to rotate the view, at this point the girl next to me is like “You mean you can just move it around and look at it from any angle!!! That is soooo like cool”

Client asks me to render a hi-res logo for print. Of course I am not giving any print specs. I render the logo out at 7000x4500 thinking this should cover any typical requirements.

I get an email back saying it looks good but it’s only 72 DPI!!?!??!

Of course they could print it out at any DPI they wished with the resolution I provided.

#357

Maybe they wanted a huge 8 foot by 5 foot poster of the logo!

Perhaps but if you have ever looked at a billboard print very close they dots are huge!

Should have sent it back at 7500 dpi, and waited for them to say their printer couldn’t handle it.

I thought about it and I thought they might print it and they would still complain that I sent them a file that was too small… although uncompressed it’s over a 100MB.
