woeful Macbook pro Performance

#1

Hi everyone

i have a new hi spec mac book pro laptop and have been running Lightwave 9.3 on it for a few weeks now and i cant help but notice that the performance is really bad !

the Opengl is slow and unresponsive , the rendering using fprime and native renderer is lacking and basically its at the point where its almost unusable.

I have installed both the versions of 9.3 UB and the other version and neither makes a difference…

any got any pointers ?
thanks

While I can’t comment on LWmac, ATi drivers were/are? terrible with Lightwave on Windows. The only way that I have found out to improve performance(until I switched to nVidia) was to turn on “simple wireframe edges” and “simple wireframe points”, both under Display options/Interface in Lightwave. Hope this helps You.

9.3 really, really sucks on the newest generation of Intel Macs. Fortunately, the Beta release of 9.5 is very smooth and fast. Go over to the NewTek site ASAP and enroll in the 9.5 Open Beta program.
