How would you go about rigging a wobbling soda bottle that needs to rotate around its base edge almost tipping over. Are there any good expressions to do this effect?

A start would probably be to set the pivotpoint to a locator or something like that.
using the connectioneditor you can connect for example locator1.translateX to bottle_GRP.rotatePivotX.
then work from there.
building off of the idea that Schempp put forward; one way that you could achieve the effect is to use a series of transforms (locators in this case), one for orbiting the can, the other for pivoting the can and the last for spinning the can along its center pivot. There is also some counter rotation going on so the can isnβt over spinning.You can check the attached Maya file to get a better idea of what I mean.
