Hi! It’s been many years since I’ve spent any time drawing. I just started this little sketch and wanted to get some advice. Just a line drawing at the moment, but I just cannot seem to get her to look “right”. Maybe her arms are too long? Or her head is too big? Suggestions?
Well, after consulting my one good friend, she suggested lowering the head and exposing the right shoulder for reference. Here are my changes. I think it looks much better. Still looking for suggestions for improvements.
Looks sweet and sexy! The missing overall composition makes it difficult to say much about her expression. The arms appear to be somewhat lifeless, the hands stiff for a person running away (her left arm seems to be also a tiny bit shorter than the other one). The swing in the scarf is good, while the skirt is hanging there noninvolved in the action.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m working on changing the arms up. I’m thinking right arm is going to be reaching (or putting) something into the bag on her hip. I agree about the dress…still not sure I like her outfit at all tho, so that may all change.
