Hi, here my first 3d portrait… base Mesh made in Maya and sculpted in Zbrush. the finished model will be printed in 3d.
Some suggestion?
WIP - Mel Gibson portrait
Not a bad start. Can you share your reference image but also the side view so we can better judge and help you?
Side View… the expression is a little different (customer choise).
the second image is the reference of the customer… but i never see this image in the movie and this pic is too small for a reference!
For my portraits, I always start by blocking my orthographic references based on the eyes position in space. The refs you shared are goods, but I feel there is a bit of a tilt in the front view. You should adjust side view based on that front view OR find a better ref of a front view. But Also you need more angle to block your basemesh
Also, don’t hesitate to grab referencve of Mel Gibson itself from others movies from the same area. Sometime you can find good reference from other angles.
If I do a compare animated in PS you can see also what is wrong in your base shape:

[ol]
[li]The eyes are too deep in the face: Need to be rework
[/li][li]The nose will need adjustment based on the eye position
[/li][li]The mouth is too deep in the face
[/li][/ol]
Thx a lot Scote… i’ll try to use your recerence to make the right adjustment.
Thx again for your help
