Hi all !

I wanted to find time to enter into this challenge as I know it will be good experience to be involved with all the talented people on this forum.

Here’s my start. No idea whats happening on the horizon yet so just had a scribble

Cheers
Steve

Great concept ! a lot of potential for a perfect composition, nice balance this will end up in a very interesting to see micro composition matte painting, maybe the sail will be to distracting and big, looking forward to see more!

good luck !

Thanks for your comments Jaime
I agree on the ship comment, I think those layers will go through many moves / resizes before I’m done.

My favorite part of the concept are the clothes lines. That’s a really cool idea.

I hope you’ll keep it in the final.

Started adding some photos. I appreciate that the ship / smoke etc. will not be wanted in the final piece but keeping them on a layer to help get a feel for the environment for now.
I have scribbled in some rough pipework that will link the power stations and trail across the landscape. More house detail will be placed in the distance but keeping a lower class look compared with the foreground buildings.

That is a good start to get your idea across :buttrock:
Currently your horizon might be a bit too high, depending on how much you’re going to alter the plate
In either case :wise:
don’t spend too much time designing flying ships or anything of that sort because the brief mentioned to keep this a clean frame

Keep going :arteest:

Wow. I like the effect of the pic as a whole. I’m thinking that if you can keep track of the practical items, the geometry and perspective, it would end up being a nice picture. The direction of light is looking pretty consistent, just seeing it now.

I like how it’s looking.

Steve, I really like the vista you’re creating. Can’t wait to see the progress. More please! Jennie

Thank you all for your comments !
I hope I will get more time to work on this before the deadline. Working night and day at the moment (can’t complain I suppose).

Thanks Guys
