WIP: KREOLA - Marc Barrer

I came upon this contest and thought to give it a try although just a couple of days left.

To get a first glimpse of the scenery I placed the elements on the canvas to see what it looks like and which ideas would come up with the composition.

I wasn’t happy with the background as it didn’t look dramatically enough. Hence I put huge rocks in the back to achieve a more steep setup.

By seeing both sides set apart I wanted to combine them with bridges made of their unparelled wood which resists over one ton.

In order to get electricity the citizens of this fictitious city use water to provide them with power and keep the economy sustained. This implicates waterfalls and the mentioned river below which surround the realm of Flussdorf.

The waterfalls must be fleshed out more as it is seen, this will be done later. The atmospheric mood is not pronounced enough at the moment.

More buildings are placed at the back. There is dust and haze floating around emphasizing the sultry weather.

In the next step I wanna work out the foil as it should be much brighter as the sun is breeding bloom with its power and this will give the illusion of infinity because there will be a graduation from bright to dark. Also the colours of the background will be less vivid. These steps will cause facial depth as well.

More details added. The close planet elements are still to big to the rest of the scene, fix that at the end. Now, I am working on the background to finish.

Hello Marc,
Welcome to the challenge. Your image is really vibrant at the moment.
Maybe try dialing it back a notch or two on the saturation.

Keeo going.

Thanks Millan for your response.
The adjustments to the foreground elements are done. It’s not that saturated anymore.
I’ve been considering how to develop the background and tend to not fill the back with
buildings as it would be to congested. Should be able to finish it shortly.
What do you think?
