Work in progress for Kreola~!!

First time trying matte painting it’s an exciting/daunting challenge, but worth learning the technique~

They are both really rough sketches of what I want/intend to do

My whole idea was to base the market on the left and oppisite the building/balcony, experimenting on the scale between the buildings and the market.
The gorge will be pretty much separate them apart, with I presume a bridge further in the background.

I think it helps to block things up (the buildings) and use a rough sketch as an overlay to see where I want things to go~

And (google) sketchup was a life saver when it came to the perspective of the buildings and my makeshift market. I was really stuck with trying to get the image to correspond with what I wanted, but by using sketchup I think it’s going to be a bit easier~

All I need to do know is to flesh it out by adding a colour scheme, and bringing it to life~

This is such a fun experience/technique to try ^w^
