The latest painting session. At this point I fixed the glaring mistakes, now on to Photoshop.

Looks cool… I like the design of the gate. There’s a very welcoming type of character to it despite the precarious drops next to the edge of the walkways. 
For matte painting purposes you should definitely lay down some grids or even some basic geometry to get perspective more consistent – but I guess that’s kind of a next step kind of thing. You might be already intending to do that when you said “off to photoshop”

yes off to Photoshop to fix the perspective. Thanks for the nudge and the comments, I wish I had worked on this part a bit earlier in the design. I chopped out the worse part and I’m doing repairs and adding it back in later. About that steep drop, you can tell i spent allot of time on scaffold this summer, I didn’t think the drop was too bad. Next time GRID, GRID, GRID… I learn everything the hard way. Perspective is better than it was. Up to this point, the next WIP.
