WIP - Keira

Really cool job man. Very nice. Will you try to animate it ? because I think there is some topology problems if you have to make a morphing. Otherwise it is pretty good. Love especially the ears. Keep updating man !

#62

thanks  I had intended to animate it, but im not sure anymore. This is only my second head so im still getting to grips with modelling and stuff, but ive kinda got the hang of it now. Nowhere near as good as Mr Singh though  (wow…)

Anyway, im guessing i might leave animations out for this one, i dont know. If it doesnt work, i will do anims on a new head when ive finished a still piece for this one.

#63

very nice progress, plz post more

#64

Very nice modeling; very strong. I also suspect you are a Natalie Portman fiend as your eyes bear a resemblance to hers.

AFA details go:

Eyes: under-eyelids need more fleshiness. Also, the actual shape of her eyes, when open, is very different from what you have done.

Mouth: lips need more bloom, not much, just a little.
Upper mouth shelf needs more prominence.
Lower lip needs less V shape and more bow shape.
Jowels need slightly more prominence.

She is lacking the muscle that goes from upper bridge of nose to the top of the upper mouth shelf/cheeks. This muscle is important for convincing faces and is often overlooked.

Stimuli - i wanted to pm you about this but i cant! You’re pm is not available. So, ive posted it here for everyone else to see

Right. I didnt quite understand all of your post. I think i understand the eyelid fleshiness comment, so i will get onto that now, but im not quite sure what you mean by “upper mouth shelf” (do you mean the “innie bit” that comes down from the nose? If so, does more prominence mean a deeper “dent”? Im sorry, i have no anatomy knowledge so technical terms are lost on me

Secondly, when you say the bottom lip needs less v shape, do you mean the bottom of the lip, or the top of the lip? (as in, where the two lips meet).

Btw, i am using keira knightley as reference. The reference pic can be seen on the first page of this thread. Unfortunately the eyes are very squinty in that pic, and i cant get realistic looking eyes. Any ideas?

Thank you very much for your comments, and judging by the “Posts: 1” on your profile, welcome to cgsociety

EDIT: Ooh, this is important. Which pic were you looking at when you made the comments, this one: http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/6980/wipjaw8rx.png (the second last one on page 5)

or this one: http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/4691/wipjaw5ko.png (the last one on page 5)

Ok, ive done my best to follow you’re advice. Not quite sure how well though

EDIT: I thought i should post this, just in case the lighting in the above renders obscured anything.

#67

Ok, i’ve made some pretty drastic changes to the cheek structure - i think its worked pretty well. I also think im nearly ready to start texturing again  (again, again… ugh).

c&c welcome once again.
Thanks all for support

#68

Ive only just begun to notice how awful those eyes look… Im not really sure whats wrong with them. They dont come up very well in this render so it may be best to look at the couple before this post - please advise!

Thanks

#69

Allready looking better. Still think her eyes are too small though - but it is coming on.

#70

Oky doky

A picture says a thousand words, so prepare to read an essay (or two, technically). Comments please!!

(btw, there is actually quite a large difference between the models, although it may not all be visible from the front. I will try to post other angles soon.)

#71

and again…

Note - the jaw is different again, please crit. Thanks

#72

Good, good. Just the jaw still seems too long. It typically looks like someone who’s lower teeth extends further out than the upper teeth. (Like she’s pushing out her jaw forward.)

Hey, if I didn’t believe in your work, I would have just let it go by, but I want to see this work completed and great!

Stay on it!

#73

Ok, done another update.

Lowered the eyes
Filled up the eyebrow area
Changed shape of forhead
Changed shape of bottom lip
Lowered entire forhead (it was too tall apparently)
Some other minor tweaks.

Please crit  Thanks

#74

Jaw now much better!

#75

The jaw is looking good…carry on mate.

#76

i like this “jaw” better… maybe it could be moved a LITTLE (VERY little) inwards… but i have noticed that kiera has that to her… that jaw… i have seen alot of movies with her and i always notice that her jaw has that “special” somthing to it… and in this image i thing you hit it (almost) spot on…

#77

Good Lord i need to stop working on this…

Ok, update. Eyes have had a huge makeover, although (eeek!) it may not appear THAT obvious. They now have proper “innie bits” instead of flaps of skin, and… well, just let me know what you think  I have also made the new eyes much wider. Unfortunately i suck at proper eyes. So er… i’ll have to learn. If you’ve been following this thread you’ll already know that

lots of other changes made here too, so if ive gone too far with anything and need to take it back a little, please let me know.

Thanks

Ooh, edit: Sorry for the low quality render (1 minute - couldnt be bothered)! GRIN

#78

Two photomixes, just for the hell of it. One with keira’s eyes, and one with angelina jolie’s eyes. I tried angelina’s to check if different eyes still look ok. Big problem comes when i have to do this in 3d :frowning:

Anyway, no real artistic value here, just “doodling”.

#79

hey mate…u r getting close to finishing it…i hope u make the eyes as above.besta luck mate.

#80

Well, here is my first attempt at making eyes.

please crit
