Hey Guys,

For this challenge I will be using Maya for the fire simulation and Nuke for compositing.

I’m planing to have a bonfire that is lit from a trail of petrol/some flammable liquid.

haven’t decided on the camera move yet but have toyed with the idea of follow the origin of the fire along the flammable liquid until it reaches the bonfire. I will do some rough previz over the next couple of days and get it uploaded asap.

If I get some time might even try to work in the smoke forming words as it rises!

Some rough sketches should have some previz tomorrow

Got my previz done now to sus out the specifics.

Built my own bonfire as I wasn’t sure if there were going to be any assets provided.

should have an upload when I get into TAFE first thing tomorrow.

I like the concept! how is it coming along?

Only thing I would suggest is to reduce the overall wind/turbulence which right now seems maybe a bit too random and over the top

Thanks for the feedback Leonard!

I have been away on holiday so I’m not so sure that i will get this done on time but I’m going to try my best!

Since my last post i have have been playing around with the sim and the texture so I will cache something out and start doing some test renders.
