WIP: Finding Nemo, the alternative ending

#1

I was watching the behind the scenes of finding nemo the other day, and they where talking about how they got in the car and drove down the highway for hours to complete the ideas.
Well, personaly, I prefer to eat.
So this image got stuck in my head, had to draw it

It supposed to be the director and the first scripwriter, Andrew and Bob. And I have yet to draw the food on the plate and a fishbowl to the far left.
And then the fun part is still left, lights and reflections

It is kinda hard to get the faces right, not like the net is filled with high resolution pictures on theese guys

Anyways, here we go:

Edit; btw, working in photoshop

SOmething that looks totaly wrong?

It is not a bad effort. For the reference you had a your disposal, I am sure the faces are quite good. I am sure that is in the works for you, to make sure things, such as the hands have as much detail as the faces and so on…

On second thought, I don’t think the light which would be flooding in from the window on the left is seen in the light/shade on the guy on the left. That might need a change on his face and back.

#4

… where is the shadows …?? … on the table … walls … that green wall looks … mmmmm… i mean you can use some higher resolution texture …

#5

erm… like I said, I havnt dont the light and all the illumination yet…

Will see if I find a better wallpaper

#6

… ok … i hope you do something with this green …ufff…wall…and left guy’s expression …i don’t like cuz it seems like he have long white eyebrows …

#7

Is it the reflections in the glass?
Do wish I had some better photos

#8

Gonna take a look at the guy to the left and see if I can find a big grin picture to work from instead, before I start with the ligh.

cheers!

For me what makes it look a little awkward is the chopsticks in his hand. It looks more like has has only one stick (even though I can see that there’s two) and that he’s pointing at his food with it.

When you use chopsticks, they usually form a wide “V” shape, coming together at the end. THe first two fingers + thumb control the top stick, the last two fingers control the bottom stick. It might just be so that at this angle you can’t see the V formation, but I think the finger placement is a little out, and if you bend his hand around so that it’s pointing more towards the other guy, I think It might look a little more relaxed.

Is this meant to be a “pose for the camera and pretend you’re eating” kind of portrait, or is it a “Hey guys! look here NOW!” kind of portrait? If it’s the latter then the guy on the left next to the fish bowl should be a little more hunched over his plate.

Just some thoughts!

its more a “had to pose the character depending on what refferencephoto I had” (didnt have enough photos to twist the heads and know how it looked :/)

The bodys belongs to my boyfriend, had him to pose at a table to get the anatomy right. He did have some chopsticks but no food.

I like the clothes! I mean, I’m not sure what style you are going for, whether its realistic of that sort of style. But yeah, I like what you have done with the clothes. Oh, except for on thing…the guy on the left and his grey shirt. I think it lacks a little shadow and detail. See what you can do.

Cool stuff, so you are doing it all in photoshop? Keep it up
