Hey everyone!
So, just in short… I used to do illustration several years back, and took about a 5 year hiatus due to the fact that I started focusing more on graphic design that didn’t require my illustration skills at all. I went back to working where I’m needing to do illustration again, and I can’t help but feel a bit rusty. I really want to get back to working on my illustration skills again, since I feel bad for putting them on a shelf for so long.
I decided to take part in an art challenge with some of my artist co-workers. The theme was “Pin Up” and we could do with it as we pleased… so I decided to try to do a somewhat realistic Ariel the little mermaid as a pin up version (which was a bit of a challenge, since I usually tend to do more stylized art when doing digital illustrations). I’m not done, and I plan on going back in with more details (like I’m wanting to add scales to her fin and clean up a lot of the rough areas). But before I got too far into detailing and cleaning things up, I figured that maybe I could throw her on here and see if anyone on here has any critiques of anything that just looks totally off and that I should work on a bit more.
So, feel free to pull this apart. The art reveal is on August 3rd, so I’m wanting to try to get as much done within the next week or so as possible.
