Wings on MK Linux

#1

Hi,

Is anybody succesfully running Wings on MK Linux (or any other flavor of Linux for PowerPC Mac).

What version of wings do you need for that (I’ve seen a download link for Platform Independent Wings3D, is that for processors other than intel or AMD)

Thanks

Kiko

You will have to build everything by your self then.

start with erlang www.erlang.org
then SDL www.libsdl.org
then esdl esdl.sf.net
and last wings

Grab the sources and start making…

Yes. I have Mandrake 9.2 and Wings 0.98.19c running on it. Try search on rpmfind.net or google for a .RPM package for MDK. Good Luck.

thanks guys

As a newbie to Linux I must say I’m unfamiliar with all this terminology.

I already had Mandrake 9.1 for PC, still haven’t got around to installing it, it was nice to find out a PowerPC version of Mandrake is available too.

I’m downloading Debian PowerPC CD imagers right now and will have a go at running it on my olde Mac.

Cheers

Enrique

I don’t know anything about Linux and such, but I wouldn’t think that Wings would run too smoothly on anything less than a G3, with at least 256 megs of ram, and preferably with a G4 or higher would be better. anybody ?
