Hi,
I’ve purchased Motion Builder B5–downloaded it today–and have been working on wings for the last month so I could create my own models and animate them in MB rather than use clip art. From what I can figure, being on mac, I still can’t get things from wings to MB. Is that right, or am I missing something? I’m a total novice as far as 3d programmes. Motion Builder support has told me I need a converter to go from obj or 3ds to Motion Builder but my downloading of the converter gives me an “exe” file which I think means this is their converter listed on the wings site that’s a beta for windows. Can anyone give me advice on how to get from wings to MB on mac in MB5?
Thanks in advance. I love both programmes and look forward to using them together.
Wings/Motion Builder
Sorry about that,
the converter for OS X will be available very soon, I should have more info on availability next tuesday (monday in a holiday)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply Michel. Early saturday morning… checking out the wings forum after a major software release the day before. You amaze me.
JRH
besides MB 5 now supports OBJ import so you should just beable to export your model as obj and import to MB.
THe fbx file exporter works also. MB native format
wait is hte Ver 5 demo limited as to what i can import? I just looked and it doesnt have much in the import dropdown. IT looks like all are animation import files.
Hi crgowo,
Your second post is what my original question was all about. This is a wings forum so I don’t want to get too much into the specifics of motionbuilder. But I believe you still need a converter to get from wings to MB. That converter is currently only windows but as Michel says will shortly also be in mac. (I have the actual version of MB5 so I’ll post further details in a thread I started called “file import” under Motionbuilder on this site.)
