Windows 10 compatibility

#1

Hi everyone,
I got a laptop with windows 10 home installed, witch is not compatible with 3ds max… before upgrading my windows to pro, is there any other option or a way I can install max 2017 successfully on it or upgrading is the only choice I have?
Am not a technical person, so a detailed answer would be appreciated

where did you get idea that 3ds max is not compatible with windows 10 home???

It’s compatible. Just install it and use it. Maya, as well. There’s very little difference between the Home and Pro versions of Win10 and none under the hood that would affect Max. I don’t even think they make a 32-bit version of Windows anymore, so you don’t have to worry about that RAM cap.

On the specifications page Autodesk says it works only on Professional editions of Windows. This appears to be an artificial limitation they’re imposing on customers. I haven’t tried to install Max on a machine without a Professional edition of Windows. Are you saying it won’t let you install it? If that’s the case buy a Windows 10 Professional key and do the “Change product key” thing in the properties for This PC.
