Window in the Sky

#1

Hi guys!
Not long time ago I’ve found your forum while been searching for information about matte painting techniques, artworks and so on.
It’s amazng. There are nice peolpe and works here!

Ok, enough
Here is one of my first matte painting artworks.
The theme of the illustration is classical: window in the sky. The matter is that this was made for a retro 50 years old postcard for website (shown below).
So I decided to draw something in classic theme.

Here it is: (waiting for your comments)

P.S. This will be a family site for searching for ancestors and people with the same family name.
P.P.S. Excuse me for my, sometimes, bad English.

hi, welcome to the forums even though the final result is not a matte painting, you used some of this techniques to create it, and for the clouds image I think it is overexposed, and this is removing lots of possible detail on it, some of the clouds edges are dark, as if the cut is not perfect or where there should not be a dark edge line , I like the desaturation you didi on your last image
good work

Thanks for comment, jamesvfx!
But concerning desaturation in the final image. Actually, this is not real desaturation.
In this case, to achieve such a realistic effect of old print I had to remove black color from the image. In other words, in the CMYK model of the image I removed black one (K).
Really, black color is of the most unstable colors in print. So with time it evaporates first.
