Why Modo?

#1

Hi guys,

I don’t know modo at all. Looks very good and the rendering looks fantastic!

Can anyone post a screenshot or 2 of how the interface looks like?

Is it easy to use? Quick?
What about rendering times?
Easy to learn?
it’s so much cheaper than other applications!

cheers!

Modo’s UI is highly customizable so it’s you can tailor the interface to suit the way you work. Check out all the vids at the Lux website.

To answer your questions it’s fairly intuitive to learn but if you’ve many years using another 3D app it still takes a little while to get around to “thinking modo”. This is true when switching to any app however so don’t let it put you off. By consensus, the easiest transition is for Lightwave users as there are similar philosophies between these apps. Renders are very quick in modo. Why not try the 30 day demo?

For what it’s worth, here’s a pic of my interface.

I like the interface. looks great!
To me it is very cheap comparing to max or maya or any other appl.

The thing is i cant try the trial version, because at my work you need admin rights to install anything…My P.C at home is stuffed, i need to get a new one.

Can you read CAD plans is MODO?

Modo can import dxf CAD files.

We know you are too lazy to look at the dozen of threads that are exactly like this one but too lazy to go to luxology’s website?

jipp buzzoff, i’m god. i know everything right? mmm

Ignore him, it’s not the first time he’s writing something like this. Probably a sarcastic fool, who feels strong behind his screen.

You know the name of the application and it isn’t hard to find the company that makes it. Instead you want someone to post screenshots. Why not get off your butt and download the demo?

#9

mate, you are the lazy one, you did not even read what i wrote earlier…

The thing is i cant try the trial version, because at my work you need admin rights to install anything…My P.C at home is stuffed, i need to get a new one.

mmmm. nice one geezer

Can’t you remove some things from your PC at home to make a little room to test the demo out? Also, I’m not 100% sure but I believe you can install the demo to a thumb drive and use it that way if you have one laying around.

Visit http://www.luxology.com/ and watch some of the videos on the site to get an idea of what the GUI looks like and how it works.

with a little preparation you can just copy Modo including all the config files and extras to any computer without installing. So you could install it at home, and copy it to your computer at work.

Ahh, a dead PC is no good  If it works enough for small things though I really do suggest trying to install it on a thumb drive. That way you can just plug it in at work and give Modo a go without having to use admin rights to install the demo. I wish you all the best on your Modo journey! I’ve been a huge fan since I bought Modo 101 a long while back.
