Why is my thread "Archived?"

Just wondering if this is something I did, or if it was closed for a specific reason.

It was closed because it was too close to the “what 3D app should I use” topic that’s been banned here since, well, forever. It would just turn into a pointless thread of people arguing over which app is best, and it ultimately wouldn’t serve any constructive purpose. I know you started the thread with good intentions, but years of experience with the whole software issue here has taught us to nip them in the bud.
