why are the b/w tools in PS / PSE not the same ? :(

I don’t understand why are these tools so different te black and white tool from photoshop and the one from photoshop elements. I simply like the photoshop’s tool black and white, I am planning to get photoshop elements but I really like that tool… the b/w tool of pse is just rubbish compared to photoshop’s… is there any plugin that gives this feature in pse ? It is the only feature I miss in pse compared to ps

Thanks

There is an old plugin that does the same thing and works in PSE. Because it is old, you must follow some steps.

http://www.photo-plugins.com/Plugins/Plugins/B-W-Conversion.html

Ppc2bw can be used with Elements and Windows Seven but you have to carry out one or both of the following procedures:1) Patch the .8bf file with the FM Patcher, from here:
http://www.filtermeister.com/fmpatcher/index.htm

  1. Disable Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP) as described here:
    http://techblissonline.com/enable-disable-dep-in-windows-xp-vista/
or add Elements to the exclusion list.

Or switch to Photoline, which is more powerful than PSE, and comparable to Photoshop (and less expensive than PSE)
Photoline has a similar b&w adjustment layer.
