Where is the “use script wiring” option in the rightclick menu of a force operator in max 2015?
In the helpfile this option is documented and i can see it in 2013, but not in 2015.
Where is the "use script wiring" option?
Overlooked, I am surprised this wasn’t fixed in a Service Pack. :sad:
You need to switch to the legacy Particle View in order to use Script Wiring.
You can find the file here:
DRIVE:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2015\plugcfg_ln\ParticleFlowSlate\PFlowSlate.ini
Change the switch
NodeEditorDisplayFlags=2
to
NodeEditorDisplayFlags=1
Restart Max.
Hey - I had this problem a while back and decided to just stay at Max 2014. Now I resettet my PC but saw this post and thought I can give it a try. - It’s not working for me
I changed the ‘2’ to a ‘1’ but the PFlow Editor just keeps the same ‘slate’ design and I can’t find my ‘Use Script Wiring’ D:
I already restared Max and also restared my PC. Is there any chance I can get this working?
I hope you can help me
Matthias
Wow, thank you for the fast awnser.
Did the change of the .ini work for you and changed the design? If anybody knows how to make use of the:
DRIVE:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2015\plugcfg_ln\ParticleFlowSlate\PFlowSlate.ini
let me know
Thanks for the great support!
Matthias
No it works, I am using the legacy Particle View in 2015 as I type. It just may be reading one of a dozen PFlowSlate.INI’s. There is the Root INI which I showed you and like most initialization files for plugins there is typically one for each regional language version of max. Try looking in your local user directory, it is still in the plugin configuration folder
Example:
DRIVE:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2015 - 64bit\ENU\plugcfg_ln\ParticleFlowSlate
WOW Johnny,
you always surprise me with your skills - even though you don’t probably know me - I read a lot of your post on here and in the Orbaz Forum
This is just working like a charm.
Matthias
No problem
Glad all is well. I wish they would have service pack or hotfixed it, I guess since there is a workaround they thought no big deal.
