Cinema 4d ce you might wanna give a try. And the best part about it is its free
just limited to 640x480 renders… unless you pay the 100$± for Cinema 4d ce+.
Waiting for the issue to hit BnN here in town.
What is your Wings Side Dish?
I use my recently purchased LightWave, some 3ds max, and had to choose “Other” because someone forgot to include:
Softimage|XSI!!!
I use Wings with a lot of stuff but mostly with ZBRUSH, XSI and MESSIAH
for low budget i highly recommend ZBRUSH and MESSIAH!!!
Its always a treat to use motion and morph blender in Messiah.
cheers
Loggie
Blender and Yafray mostly. Occasionally Anim8or or POV-Ray. I’ve also used a few of the others with it, but they were only on a few incidents so I didn’t include those.
I’m another Cinema CE+ user (how did Cinema get missed out?)
Great app at an unbelievable price!
I’d like to get Z-Brush soon.
Hey Loggie, you have an interesting idea of low budget LOL! ;o) The stand alone version of Messiah is about the same price as Lightwave isn’t it?
I do love the quality of it’s renders though, somehow a little more natural than most apps.
If Daz Studio ever gets released (I’ve been waiting since January) it should be a good companion to Wings, it uses 3Delight for it’s renderer and will have animation and rigging tools and the base version will be free! - Baz
i looked up that Daz Studio and i couldnt find if it was going to beable to export ribs or render directly to 3deligth?
crgowo - Daz Studio will have 3Delight built in and will render directly, no hand editing of RIBs! - Baz
Hello all, first post here.
Just discovered Wings after a few months of messing around with other apps, and I absolutely love the modelling tools. It’s the first interface I’ve found that feels “right” for me.
Anyway, like many others, I’ve been using Cinema4D CE for my renders, can’t beat the price.
btw, if it’s a static image render you are making you can sidestep the 640x480 restrictions by opening a new window, maximise it at the highest res your monitor supports.
Ctrl-R it to render, then printscreen > Ctrl-V into a paint program.
( I imagine most of you worked this out already, but thought it might be worth mentioning…)
Another satisfied Wings-C4D (r8) customer here…can’t belive you didn’t have that listed on your poll:shrug: Funnily enough I also use Wings to model/import non-organic models into Animation Master, as these type of models are definitley not AM’s forte…
Like others here, will soon be adding Zbrush to the arsenal…all up a total recipe for madness
Wings for the cool fun stuff. Blender for the unpredictable hot looks. Yafray, yes Yafray.
c4d users make sure to check out mesh surgery:

But I’ll buy it…one day…I hope.]
Don’t go ballistic on me, I already apologized for that
