what is the best in game industry?

am wondering wht is the best in game industry, is it max or maya (in modeling).
and what is the best graphic card for games?

Generally, 3ds max has the biggest share in the game market, probably for some reason… Nonetheless, if you already know Maya or XSI, it’s also possible to use those packages and switching to another software would be a waste of time.

The question about graphic cards was not very smart. The more you’re able to pay, the better card you get. If you need the best of everything that exists, just grab the most expensive card, or actually two of them, put them in SLI/CrossFire mode and have the best game experience available. If you don’t have that amount of money, just make a tradeoff between quality and price.

I guess, generally ATI products give the best raw performance for given price, while NVidia cards are more advanced and reliable, but cost a bit more for the same FPS count. (Not to mention that in different applications they behave differently, so they’re not directly comparable.) I could put my impression this way: ATI among graphics is like AMD among processors, while NVidia is more like Intel :wink:

Sorry, not too sure about the Modeling program (only tried max), I would prefer modo myself for modeling (www.luxology.com) Try it out.

Now the graphics card, nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX 512mb wipes the floor clean! I suggest you take a look at http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/843/
