Hey Roberto,

I asked this in the other thread, but might as well just ask again.
Can i do a mix between styles? I would wanna do a funny version of an orc in an MNU battle-suit from project 9. It won’t be a 100% remake cause I don’t think there is any art in that.

I hope that concept sketch from that whit battle suit is actually a weta workshop piece.

Would the Alien Exo Suit in District 9 be fair game? Designed by Weta Workshop but modeled by The Embassy I believe.

Might just end up going with the District 9 guns otherwise risk not finishing on time. Still have to get work out of the way first though. :smiley:

Basically, if it’s designed by Weta Workshop, then you can model from those designs. Then you can do your own interpretation of the design. Only drawback is that you won’t have feedback from the designer.

Hmm, good point. I didn’t look at it that way. I was planning on using the concept art AND the film as reference for the exo suit. The result would have been more The Embassy than anything else. I guess I’ll leave that as a personal project for later down the road. :slight_smile:

I’ll go with the District 9 gun/s. I just love that film! :smiley:

i have a question about my entry…
is it problem to re-use my previous model for this comp? i never used it anywhere, it’s unfinished… or essential to done from scratch?

Sorry, but one of the vore rules we always follow is that all models have to be done from scratch.

Hello all!
I may join this challenge but I still have some doubts!

There´s a part in the instructions where it says:

"…THE CHALLENGE:___________________________
Sculpt one or more representations of Stan Winston creatures in 1 month 1/2 from his filmography. The idea… "

Maybe it´s the text of the previous challenge… I don´t know…

And it´s not really clear how much time we´ve got to finish this…
Although it says one month, is it counting from when Roberto posted it? So it would be:
starts: 02-05-2010
ends: 03-05-2010
Am I right?

Ok, now the last one!
Let´s say I pick Gollum. Can I put him in any pose I want? Or I have to do exactly as weta´s sculpture?

Id like to do a creature from Avatar, but its not listed on their film list… its also unclear or unlikely that they designed the creatures, but I think they rendered out most of them, and worked on other ‘visual effects’… Am I just imagining this, or did WETA work on that film, and can’t I do a creature from that?

I think it’s hard to know if weta designed it or not.
But i think you are confusing the weta workshop with weta digital.

We can only do the things that weta workshop made and designed.
This is the part that makes masks, make-up, designs and such.

So it’s weta digital who uses certain designs, makes them digital
and makes it come to life.

about the final renders… the beauty render must be 16001200 (or 12001600), or is it possible to render 1920*1080? the 1080p would be cool… :rolleyes:
