read through the manual but…if there’s no weld how do you weld these …
tried dissolving / collapsing faces, edges, points but ends up all funky
thanx

actually the problem is more complicated…
somehow i ended up with this face (it’s one single face) … the one on the outside of the model is the same face extracted so you can see it better …
so, it won’t let me delete it …any tips??
[edit]
so went in and dissolved nearby faces and then connected remaining verts…worked, but a simple weld verts or delete faces would have been nice
oh well, day one with this … i’ll figure it out ,
okay …that makes sense in a round-a-bout way
i appreciate it much,… and will keep this in mind for my next SNAFU:)
Yes it is a pretty quaint illustration, but I think it gets the point across… was rushing to get it done before leaving work.
Also, could try:
Select both verts
Connect
Collapse new edge
or
Select ‘diamond’ face
Inset (anything, even 0%)
Collapse new face
Remove unwanted edges
Object | cleanup etc
pp
I like the Select,Connect and Collapse but I first select the cretaed edge,go to Tweak mode and roughly bring one of them close then I collapse the edge which somehow mimics the ‘Target Weld’ found in some sofwtares, very good to keep the shape intact.
<< mimics the >>
You could also mess around with Scale (to a point)
Select both verts
Stap - choose a suitable target
Drag both points to 5-10% (say)
then as previous post
pp
puzzledpaul … thanx for all the tips …
don’t have the time to get to this now but will try all these later
