water flow/ particles

i didnt notice this before since i havent really bothered to do much with vue, and i spent some of the weekend going through it and im not sure if im wrong . but in vue you cant make water flow can you, with out just moving/changing setting in the mats. and particles are there any, um like to make it rain or to make water splash/ waterfalls. oh im using vue 5 and after going through geekaplay tuts i have to buy 6 i cant belive that 5 doent give options for diffrent brushes.

Hi,

Your right…there are no particles in vue, however you can (to a degree) make it look like water is flowing.

The two ways I can think of are, to animate the textures to move along the z, giving the impression of movement. In the top left corner of the “advanced material editor”, you can check “Animate material surface z=time” to your liquid texture. to enhance the look you can create a foamy edge.

The other way, is to create a procedural terrain and edit it in the function editor, and change the fractal node to open ocean, which will animate over time in the direction you want…edit the open ocean function to suit. Once again add a foamy shoreline, this will also animate over the edge of the terrain.

Probably not what your looking for exactly, but thats vue. If you havnt already…you can check out my tutes…I have videos on this.
