water drops on a photo

#1

Hi,
i’ve see today these photos on a magazine:

They seems to have photoretouch two photos (for everyimages) the first with water launched on a scene, the second with model. After they have mix them (maybe with a layermask) and add some effect maybe with a filter or manually…

Someone can show me if there is a plugin or a tecnique for mad this ?

Thanks
Best regards

can only see one photo and honestly, it’s not very good

ehm sorry!

I’ve upload the first pic :stuck_out_tongue:

that photo was better

anyway, 99% of success lies within the photo quality. you need large, clean photos to work with
there are many nice splash photos around the net

other then that it’s only some color corrections and layer blending. you may need several copies of the layer in different modes but i see they didn’t spent much time on that photo since the water doesn’t even have any refraction

so the technique is make the photo add a photo(on layer mask) with splash water (taken i think from stock images site) and use the blending for mix them… cool
thanks

I agree with what has been said. However I find the “magic” in getting splashes to blend into another image lays in the “Blend if” properties. Then duplicating and using different blending modes.

yeah, the photo quality is essential

if you want to accomplish a better result then those picture you could use a 3D program to render the water exactly how you want it
