Description:
Secret Lair Studios is looking for a Lead Animator to help us create lively character animations that add life and emotion to our vibrant world. The Lead Animator will help facilitate and drive the character creation pipeline; helping to illustrate his/her methods with our outsourcing group in Shanghai, China.
Responsibilities:
• Establishing, documenting and maintaining animation pipeline
• Facilitate the production of bi-ped and quadru/multiped animations
• Work with the Project Art Director to maintain a strong focus and push toward a dynamic and spirited animation style
• Collaborate with designers on solving gameplay problems while maintaining artistic vision
• Create, estimate, and maintain animation schedules and manage the animation team to deliver consistently on those tasks
• Participate in defining tools and art production pipeline
Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Animation from a competitive program preferred.
• 3 Years of experience of animating characters for video games.
• 1 Years of experience working as a Lead within the Gaming industry.
• Expert-level skill in 3D Studio Max or equivalent 3D program.
• Strong technical background and a solid understanding of rigging, biped, and quadruped animations and other complex animation techniques and their applications to games.
• Experience with outsourcing elements of a project.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A passion for game development
• Demonstrated leadership, management and organizational skills, on at least two shipped game titles.
• Previous experience in online games a plus
• Willing to work on site in Issaquah, WA.
