Here at Irrational Games we can boast about taking gaming innovation to the next level. Our recent success at the EEE saw us take out the much coveted ‘Game of the Show’ award for Bioshock from IGN, Gamespot and Gamespy. IGN also saw fit to dub us their ‘Developer of the Year 2005’.This is the type of exposure and experience you can share by joining our award winning team in our Australian Studio.

Based in the heart of Australia’s national capital, Canberra, we are experiencing booming success in the industry and due to this growth we are in need of an experienced and passionate Producer to join our team.

As a producer here at Irrational, you will be responsible for supervising a development team to deliver a game on schedule, on budget and to quality. You will also be responsible for liaising with the publisher or distribution partner and other third parties.

We believe that a successful game producer is the heart of the development team. You must primarily be a “people person”, capable of organizing, inspiring and dealing with conflict in a group of creative people.

You must be capable of understanding the development process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and on time. You must be aware of the tensions inherent in managing a creative process to deliver a product on time and to budget and be capable of balancing the competing interests of quality and timely delivery. Irrational believes that great game producers must be capable of thinking on their feet and of responding flexibly to an ever-changing development environment.

Essential requirements:

· Minimum five years experience in the games industry

· Must have shipped multiple titles

· Experience managing a large scale software development project (20+ development staff over 2+ years)

· Experience shipping console game titles including dealing with manufacturer approval processes

· Understanding of key technical issues involved with console and PC game development

· Experience with scheduling tools

· Experience managing a project budget

· Excellent people skills including the ability to motivate people and inspire their creative talents

· Experience managing conflict

· Experience in risk analysis and mitigation

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong problem solving skills

In return we can offer you the opportunity to put your skills, vision and experience to the test by working on some highly anticipated and exciting projects that we currently have under way. This is a rare chance to play a crucial part in developing a AAA title and to work with some of the best talent in the industry.
