Wake Up Baby!, Olijosman (2D)

olijosman…

I am sure you have heard it 100’s of times so far, but, very impressive work! You are definitely in the realm of The Masters.

From one CG artist to another, would you mind helping me with a few questions?

  1. What resolution do you work at in Photoshop (72, 300, 600)?
  2. What size monitor do you have (17, 19, 21, bigger)?
  3. Would you be so kind as to “briefly” share some of your methods (brush styles, blending methods, layering, colour palette, etc.)?

I need some hope. Much appreciated,

William S.

-olijosman, don’t sweat morons like “Mother Mary”—check out that person’s ONLY other post here at the forum…the last one on the third page of THIS thread… http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=116793&perpage=15&pagenumber=1
This person was insulting of the beautiful work displayed there.

This idiot is nothing more than a forum TROLL, probably a self-conscious, talentless jerk who likes to irritate people, GRATEFUL for the anonymity of the internet, where one can hide behind a made-up handle. He/she won’t be around long.

Since friday when I saw the picture first I had to com back 12 times only to look again at it. Not only because of the incredible details but also because of the mood - it is so inspiring. THIS is real art!
Thank you olijosman!!!

i wish this never goes off the front page. it might be perverse, but i like seeing her face every time i open up cgtalk. you’ve managed to make her look gorgeous without resorting to the perfect shape, barbie-doll, stahlberg look, and i bow to you for that.
i’m not even gonna start talking about the robot. . . my brain exploded when i first saw that monster.
a gorgeous piece, through and through.
good job, man.

I am crushed!

@nineinchneil
I agree 100% with you.
The girl looks actractive, cheeky and adventurous at the same time (hope I used the right words, if not then sorry, i’m still lerning english gg) - in a very realistic way.
Besides the story which is behind this picture is nearly tangible!

RRRRRRRRRREALY AMAZING!

I cann`t believe it in photoshop.

simply wonderful!

WHY THIS THREAD IS NOT IN THE CG CHOICE GALLERY YET???

YOU KNOW THIS WORK DESERVES THE CG CHOICE AWARD FROM THE BEGINNING!!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Edit: Olijosman… I gave you 5 stars… now I can give you 12 OSCARS.

Ah I see what you mean now by the remote control being hers. Perhaps you could make it look a little modded by her, like some wires or cards and stuff sticking out of it a bit. Right now it looks a bit like a remote control for a race car, but if you make it look like she bought one of those things and modified it to make it capable of taking control of the robot it would make the story behind the image more clear. Just a thought though. It’s the only thing that jumped out at me and it seemed to stick out to a few other people who posted here. But again in any case it’s a really wonderful painting! Super job.

Thats an absolutly amazing peice of art. You dont see detail like that often, you are an absolute genious.

There is one thing bugging me and thats the fact that there’s a (very thin) black halo around the body of the girl, and the lighting seems different to the rest of the image, did you blende a photo in to make that part of the image? It’s not a real crit just curious.

Other than that absolutly amazing!

#255

When is your web site going to be back up ? I’m dying to find out more about your briliant work.

Also, what type of Wacom do you use ?

#256

Great image, especially considering the resolution you painted at. Looked a little dark to me, and I wanted to see more detail, so I grabbed the large version, threw a levels adjustment layer on it, and bumped the middle slider up to about 2.0. Interesting. Perhaps more information than I wanted to know. Now I’m really not sure how much was painted. Regardless, it’s a nice piece

#257

*him selfe- did you blend a photo in to make that part of the image?

*look at the page 16

Vegan-When is your web site going to be back up ?

my Web it is working. But I have to put connected people and data transmission limitation. Is not a commercial page and I do not have benefits and I cannot pay a limitless data transmission.
when it is surpassed the data limits, the page will be closed

voodoo -Looked a little dark to me

Truth, is a dark image.I advise to see it in the dark, cause it is full of details and dark shades.

This is a fantastic painting, really really awesome. I particularly love the facial expression of the character, and her rather unusual (almost boyish) beauty - a fabulous personality she has there

Great idea, I love the mischevious element to it - this piece has to be one of the coolest 2D paintings I’ve seen on CGTalk.

The arms are particularly impressive in terms of realism - really inspiring work!
