Wake Up Baby!, Olijosman (2D)
great pic.
I’d love it if she was holding her pinky towards her lips, like Dr. Evil… she just has that kind of dreamy dr. evil face
the reflection off the leather on the glove isn’t quite up to the rest of the picture.
if only I’d be able to get into one of the art schools so I could possibly one day compare…
keep it up dude
K.
Awesome work… man!
Can you show the real photo reference?-- i would like to see it!
Good bye!
holy $h!T!!  Your talent never ceases to amaze me! Great painting. I hope you actually print these out on canvas or something and hang them up in your studio or house cause these shouldn’t be condemned to just Os and 1s on a computer screen.
Did u really work on that image at 2143 by 1000 pixels? If so then wasn’t it really pixelish? Like the background and such? Or did u work on it at a greater size, because the 2143 by 1000 looks as though it’s been reduced from a greater scale because of all the small details. Just curious
GASP !
The thing that blows me away about this image is the absolute perfection of the anatomy.
Rather than become suicidal at my lack of skills, I figure I might as well try and learn from you instead.
So…
I can’t access your site, so please exuse these questions if they are answered there.
How many layers are in this image ?
What type of Wacom do you use ( Please say a Cintiq, because I totally SUCK with my 4x5 Graphire ! )
I know that you don’t paint over a photo, but do you at least scan in a sketch, or do you just …paint ?
Those of us that cannot access your site are dying to see the reference photos of this girl. Any chance you could post them here ?
Forgive my ignorance, but I noticed that the scarf is blowing in a different direction from robots smoke.
( But I know that sometimes wind swirls near the ground )
I agree about the final image needing sparks and debris … perhaps even a little motion blur to be fully convincing.
You, Enayla, and Olijosman — what a massive amount of talent you all have !
LOL!!
I never even noticed that the scarf blows different from smoke!! LOL!!
Doesn’t matter to me though.
MARY MOTHER OF GOD!!!
okay, are you giving hand-outs on talent because you obviously got your fair share!!
all joking aside you have a REAL gift and I can only hope that I can someday strive to paint as well as you do now.
Ostras!! Esta genial tio!!! muy buen gusto! si señor!! Lo he visto esta mañana en el curro a toda prisa, pero ahora al llegar a casa lo estoy observando trankilamente! me encanta la expresion de su cara!!!
My second post on this, in the first one I just kept drooling!
To be honest, I’d have liked to see more fiery explosion like in the original concept art… Because I know it would look even more awesome as it would give more action to the whole scene, and let the viewer know that the robot has created some mayhem there. But this is clearly THE 2d picture of the year…
The only thing that bugs me is the remote control… In any other 2d picture, I’d have loved it. But next to the ultra-realistic girl, it looks a tiny bit cartoonish, it could use a little more texture.
Even I am angry at myself saying these, after all, this is the 2d picture of the year

Waaaaaait a minute here… you are Olijosman (?)… the same guy that did that awesome vampire image ?
DAMN you’re good.
I love the display of Sub-Surface-Scattering in your images.
About the angle of the smoke…, it works if you realize that the robot has just risen up, and that the smoke is just now beginning to blow away.
( The fire is blowing in the correct direction )
At my first glance, the smoke trail seemed to lead straight back …which led me to believe that the robot was moving forward vs. in an arc.
The sketches had the smoke showing more of an arc, and it was more clear to me that the robot was sitting up.
Even your sketches are works of art.

Most definetly one of the best things I have ever seen on this forum. This is so nice. I made a wallpaper out of it too. Great job.
first of all. congratulations on a fabulous artistic rendering!
if i may criticize please from a story point of view, i have to really say i think it’s a damn shame that this pic lost the energy of the dynamic!!! destruction of the railroad depot together with the girl’s finger on the trigger which is conveyed by the sketches.
No matter how beautiful the rendering is, the story must stay king! and it’s exactly because this piece is soooo gorgeous that i truly deep down in my heart mourn the death in the final piece of the idea that was born in the original concept.
please don’t hate me.
WOW! WOW! WOW!.. this is stunning…
I love the idea. You use of colour is beautiful.
Seem like qwuite a turn from your other work.
Excellent man ![]()

i really admire how u paint skin tones…they look so realistic…
anyways,i just have one little thing to say…and nitpicking of course…lol
her right arm…there’s a sharp dark line around her elbow and forearm…i think it would be better if u smooth it more…
other than that…really awesome work…and who cares about the direction of the wind…lol
can’t wait to see more from u…
U got the key man!..woha! what a great work! a fantastic piece of art…from colours from dimension and position of the elements…is amazing…everything works so well…everything is so well balanced!! Amazing!
