Wacom Intuos Pro, is it worth it?

#1

Hello!
I haven’t been on here in ages, and man has it changed.

I’m currently using a Wacom intuos 4 (old wired version) and browsing trough the Black Friday sales I stumble across the Intuos Pro. It looks amazing! It’s wireless, sleek design, over 4000 layers of pressure sensitivity! Wow! But then I look at some reviews. People talking about the wireless function not working, how they damadge the tablet easily (dents and bends), how the surface wears down the nibs faster? Is it really that bad? Is it worth it?
My current tablet does work, but the wire seems to drop off at times and sometimes the pressure sensitivity stops working altogether (Win 10, Photoshop CC).
Anyone had any issues with it? Dents and bends?

Sorry I couldnt do it on time, don’t surf this web a lot

I used to have a bamboo and it wasnt very great but there were a notorius difference using wireless or not. Got broken and got the Intuos Pro . While it can feel a bit too small for some people it’s enough for me. Sensitivity feels good to me. I use it mainly for ZBrush and Photoshop (please do consider I’m a noob) and feels great (again, to me, a noob), but I haven’t try the wireless function since I want perfect response. No complaints on my side after almost one year of usage.

I would recommend it for beginers or low cost budgets… can’t say for more advanced users (my old teacher seemed to prefer larger ones, probably Cintiq or something). I guess the most accurate description for the tablet is OK, nothing stunning but correct functionality.

Also, keep in mind that i don’t think the wireless bluetooth is inside the original pack so you’ll probably hace to get it separetly.

If you don’t mind working via USB, I’d might say go ahead: works very nicely. If you do need Wireless tech indeed, im not so sure since I haven’t tested it.

I don’t consider myself very picky with this things… I just can say it works very sweet in ZBrush and PS… I don’t think I’ll ever be willing to move to a Cintiq or similar…

Hope this can help somehow…
