Hello everyone!
I have been thinking of buying a laptop/tablet for college. My major focuses in 3D art for video games. The problem is that I also want to improve my 2D art.
Any suggestions? :arteest:
Have an amazing day!
Wacom Companion Hybrid VS Surface Pro 3
Well, I’ve never seen the Surface in person before so I can’t say much about it, but for doing 3d work, I think you may have to set your sights a little bit higher.
I think you’d appreciate having a large format screen rather than a tablet or laptop for that matter.
Depends on your needs and budget. Saying you’re going to use it for 3D is a bit broad. Once you know what software you’re going to use then that will give you a starting point when you consider the software hardware requirements.
You could use a laptop for a lot of stuff but you might find the small screen a hindrance for you.
Well I have been using Sculptris for like two weeks and I am loving it. If I buy a better program I would buy Zbrush for sure.
The cintiq companion “hybrid”, is the android version, the windows version is just called “cintiq companion”. I’m just sayin so it’s not an apples to oranges comparison.
Wich one to buy? I decided they are both too small for my needs. I wanted get one almost exclusively for Zbrush. I would still buy the cintiq if it was as cheap as the surface 3 though.
Surface hands down. Why would you spend that kind of money on a android tablet that can’t run any software.
Nice thanks for telling me that. I did not think of it that way for some reason lol!
Have you tried running Zbrush or a similar program on a Surface Pro 3?
Have you used one?
Yes I own one.
I use Maya, Zbrush, PS, Houdini and Mischief on mine and it runs everything excellent. The pen is great.
It doesn’t. It is much more accurate in the edges compared to wacom due to how the ntrig technology works.
