Vue Terrain Defuse map Help

#1

I’m a 3ds max user, i’m just getting into vue 6, mainly for an animation I’m working on that requires allot of atmospherics and clouds, i’m trying to apply a texture map i created to the terrain’s defuse map, no such luck as of yet. I’m fairly good at navigating the ui at this point. any advice or link to direction would be awesome, or even a link to making REALISTIC volumetric clouds within 3ds max or a plug in for max would be EVEN BETTER! i’m running a bit short on time by now guys any help would be awesome. Thanks guys.

first of all, i would recomend you to go with the spectral atmospheres, realy helps in my humble opinion.

And secondly, cloud layers are much better then the standalone cloud´s in vue6. So start by playing with that and we´ll take it step by step

hope this is what you’re looking for…

To apply a custom texture map to a terrain:
-double click on the terrain’s material to open the Material Editor (best to use Advanced)
-Change ‘Coloring Mode’ on Color & Alpha tab to “Mapped Picture”
-load your image using the little yellow arrow below the black image placeholder.
-set parameters (scale, tiling mode,…etc.)

Make sure you set the mapping type to object paramaetric, and use flat (vertical) mapping.
