vray normal pass, wrong space?



when i do a normal AOV in vray for maya, i only get world space outputs?
maybe i’m missing something… how do i get it to output screen space… or whatever it is.
all i get is a crosshatch of rgb, not that nice pale green/pink image that i want to use to relight my render?

the docs make it sound like it’s meant to come out screen space but you can also ”set” it to world space.
but i see no option for that either. am i meant to do some kind of samplerInfo shader?

samplerInfo -> normal camera to color on a standard shader, put on an override layer, render.
