VOTE! : FXWARS Dracula's Castle

#1

Hi guys, Roberto here.
I just wanted to say thanks to all that made the Dracula’s Castle FXWARS a success.

All the entries were great but it is obvious that 3 entries went ahead of the pack.

So lets show the winners!

But first …
Thanks to Samuel Kvaalen for setting up the voting program

A on a sweep on all Cathegories:

Comment: I searched to create an immersive sensation, so I decided to create a long introduction and to work a lot on the mood and the rythm.

I decided to show a sunset, with the chromatic evolution, and a gradation of the camera moves.

The final shot uses the character design from Coppola’s Dracula, whitch I found perfect for the dark/romantic athmosphere I wanted.

The music is from the same movie, but edited to fit my needs.

That’s some freaking cool stuff all around.

Can I vote twice?

#4

All of the people worked really hard.
And about the vote, only one per customer.

#5

#6

casted my vote, good luck to all

#7

Cast my vote, I watched them all except for Google Monkey’s…sorry but I’m not installing an ActiveX control just to vote on this!!

I did not feel that the categories were able to accurately represent the way I wanted to vote, though…Jussing’s entry had the best emotional quality to it, but there was no category for this.

#8

Very fine results there. Good work.

But where to put my simulation vote … not much simulated here.

#9

I too agree, theres really hard effort on them, hope it all goes well on voting

#10

is the result determined? the earlier one seems to be better. the later is relatively not that better.

#11

What does that mean?

#12

roberto,

how long are is the voting thread going to be open ?

ph.

#13

Yay, thanks and congrats to everyone!

Trey, your piece was extremely poetic and beatifully done! In many ways my favourite of the competition. Fred, I’ll never know how you managed to produce such a huge amount of hi-quality work on such short notice, but when I saw your entry I knew you were the winner!

Cheers,

  • Jonas

#18

Congratulations guys! You did amazing work in a very short time

#19

Congrats are definitely in order!

More props to Fred and Jonas for their amazing work. I’m honestly not sure how any of us pulled it off with a three-week deadline – especially Fred. The sheer number of sets blows my mind, not to mention how awesome stuff looked.

Thanks to everyone for participating and Roberto for taking the time to put these challenges on.
