love the mood and the story dude

Thanks a lot for posting and comments guys! I’m glad you apreciated it!

Awesome short, I could really feel the emotion in it. The opening was a little bit plain, but it was a good contrast for the following field scene which I found to be very moving. Whats the name of that piano piece? If it’s original, I’d like an mp3. =]
Really poetic and intense Daniel… too short for me…
Bravo! :applause: :applause: :applause:
Also I saw… and saw… and saw it… many times!
Thanks for condivide it!
P.s.
I hope in the future that I will able to do something like this…
Thanks guys!!
Ryoku: thanks dude! And thanks for the input, it’s always great hearing opinions…about the track, it’s an original by a friend of mine. PM me and I’ll give you his email adress.
Piz: Thanks a lot man! I agree it’s too short, I wish I had more time in the program to make this at least 3min…and come on, your work is awessome! You could do it right now!
Nice Work, Danny!! Poignant indeed!! Love the transition from the street scene to the fields. Nice framing and camerawork!! The original score worked well for the piece. Good Luck with everything:)

Hey Daniel ,
Man I dont know what to say ;). I watched it over and over again! Very high artistic quality in all areas, lighting in particular and colour choices attribute so much character to the overall feel of this piece . 5 * without a doubt . If this is any indication of things to come , you will make a brilliant director , let alone animator.
Good Luck with things in the future , let me know when your grad is .
You simply must make more dude
/D
One can never be too satisfied with the animation… the feel and mood of the piece is potrayed beautifully. The music is perfect too…can never get bored with it…Good stuff Danny .
Keep them coming…
Zaak.
Thanks a lot for the kind words, guys! really!!
Damien: Now I don’t know what to say, haha. Thanks, really! Let’s hope you’re right, haha.
btw, Grad’s on the 10th of Jan at 6:30, Homer Campus.
Zak: Thanks man! When is Jarvis showing up?
i liked the mood of the short film and the camera shots were very nicely composed. story was plesent to obsorb , as well i liked your lighting . i would suggest really going in and pushing the movement in the wrist , i just would lke to see the musical vibrance emmited from those hands , any way , good job keep it up
synch of fingers playing on the piano is very nice as weel as overall look of your movie, unfortunetaly i dont buying a story at all, there is no point. But anyhow nice work there.
I really like the modeling/lighting/texturing/overall look of the whole piece. Plus the concept is solid. Some crits though. I thought the begining was too quick. You give us no time to find out who this old man is before he starts pouring all his emotion all over the screen. It makes the emotion seem less important. I also kinda wish there was more build up right before he starts playing. More silence, and maybe some more shots of his face and/or hands to show his thought process and some anticipation before the first note. Overall, this piece reaches its climax before much is really established.
In terms of the animation, it looked good except for some parts where the hands felt very mechanical, like they didn’t have enough anticipation or settle when they moved.
Besides those things, it really is a great piece, a lot of good work in there.
Guys, thanks a LOT for posting!
Nathan: Thanks man! I know, I’d like to do another animation pass on it to get it more loose in some parts. Thanks again! Btw, those images in your portfolio, are those from your project? They’re sweet!
Jacek: Thanks man! I know what you mean. Well, my goal was not to establish a story per say (I do have 3 pages of background on the characer), but to expose the process, the experience itself. The result isn’t as inportant as living the moment. I wanted to bring that to the viewer, so they feel and fill the gaps with they’re own experiences. Plus, I wanted to show some thecnical stuff like lighting, camera work, composition, concepts, modeling, etc.
So yes, there’s no point to the story
Mike: Thanks a lot man! I’m not going to write a lot here (again :)), just want to say that I totaly agree with all you’ve said. Those were points I fought with during all stages, but I had to compromise to get other parts working. I’m really glad that you liked especially the modeling, lighting, texturing, overall look and concept, because those where the points I really wanted to get good and show as the Reel side of things. Thanks again, and I saw your piece, very solid and entertaining. Really good!
Justin: Thanks a lot man! I’m really flattered!
hey daniel, sup!
did u cut something at the end? it seems shorter than what u showed me last time…

Hi, Ville~
Really nice mood here, a very smart way of using colors, framing, and music to establish overall feeling and atmosphere. Good job~ I wish to see more of that guy’s face expression and may be as Dr.Trent said, give it a little bit more time for audience to get in the mood before he is playing the piano.
Good luck~
Hey guys, thanks for posting!
Max: Hey man, thanks for posting! yeah, I did cut the last shot, of him back on the street…I didn’t have time so I decided to polish some other things…haha, that’s too bad, but your class is gonna come up with some awesome stuff!!
Definetly, I’m around untill March, we can do lots of stuff till then! btw, great avatar, hahaha!
Samson: Thanks man! I’m glad you liked it! Yeah, I agree… I may in the future fix some stuff indeed.
pisa tha… danny…
what can i say, everything is said, you’ve got an eye for detail, composition, color and more than anything giving a feeling to the audience.
man your work is “Tha sh-t” really, i love it.
hugs, and the best wishes for you man!
Good work Daniel! Very Original! I like the mood a lot and how the music and the animation build up until the final climax!
Cheers,
Christian
