Vertex, new event from 3D Artist and 3D World magazines brings CG community together


New CG event Vertex is now just less than aweek away!

Held at Olympia, London on Tuesday 13 March 2018, this special event is the first from 3D Artist magazine and 3D World magazine assembling experts from every industry and discipline in CG, from games and VFX through to VR, covering character concepting, real-time creation and more. You’ll be ableto boost your skills with leading industry artists and learn from some of the world’s best creative studios and artists no matter which area you specialise in.

There’s hands-on advice and tips and hear about the newest developments at our top talks, engaging masterclasses and workshops, portfolio review sessions, fascinating evening panel, and unmissable networking event. There’s even an expo area to showcase the latest in technology and software alongside recruitment opportunities. What’s more, there will be an ‘Ask an Artist’ area to help you troubleshoot your technique woes one-on-one with pro artists from MPC, Framestore and DNeg.

Some of our speakers include Chaos Group Labs director Chris Nichols, Digital Domain cofounder Scott Ross, Allegorithmic CEO Dr Sébastien Deguy, Star Wars: The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi VFX supervisor and ILM London creative director Ben Morris, as well as workshops from the likes of Creative Assembly, Saddington Baynes, Axis Studios, Blue Zoo Animation and more.

If you have an interest in shading I would HIGHLY recommend attending Sergio Caires’ workshop on the 13th at 6pm, he’s going to build a SSS shader from scratch in Houdini and he might even reveal some details about the new advanced skin shader he created at Axis :slight_smile:
