Vehicle: Batmobile

Hi Guys, this is a model I did the last year, (yeah! it’s my avatar image

Modeled in Thinkdesign (parametric CAID software) and rendered in Newtek’s Lightwave.
Being an industrial designer CAD is the primer of quite all my works.
A truly test for NURBS surfaces, and my first try with environment light and “complex” lighting setup

Hope you like it, any question, comment and crit are welcome!

and here’s a test with radiosity and HDRI

Obvioulsy… the batMobiule form the first tow movies directed by Tim Burton…

Nice, dude. Glad you picked that version! Looks to me like the modeling is pretty much dead-on…I like the black shader, too.

The only crit I’d have is to maybe dirty things up a bit, especially the airplane-style engine intake…and the headlamp covers (is that what they are?) in the front could use a transluscent material and some inner detailing.

Perfect modeling though…spot-on.

hey,
awsome job, this is by far the best looking batmobile ever made. ure model is pretty accurate too. I agree with kgkraeer regarding dirting things up a little bit. Also ive noticed that u chromed out some parts, they look cool and all but i think they would look better all blacked out. thats how they were on the original car…but good job all around.

What program did u use for that?

Very tight looking car. Only thing I didn’t like were the yellow boxes in the front. I know they are supposed to be lights but they just look like boxes. That’s the only thing I could see though very nice work other than that. Great render on the car too nice shadows

Woow!! soo many replys in so short time!

Yeah guys I modeled it starting from the plastic scaled model I bought when
the first movie was released (Many years ago  and there the headlights were simply
two “curved boxes” with some textures on them… I agree with you all… they’re
on another level of detali and quality respect the the car itself…
Unforntunately I was busy trying to model it (it was my first car model)
and something goes out of focus

About the chroming… yeah, guys, I was, as reference, the model and there was chrome… I know that photos taken upon the real scale model used in the movie show us dirty metal components. but it was my personal taste…

Damn, guys,m you are absolutely right! thank you for comments and crits!!!

but, you’re asking for that so… a little test of dirt… made at the same time (now all the stuff of this model is on CD I’ll take it again onto lightwave when, soon, I’ll shoot some self made HDRI environments…) hope you like it…
