V-Ray ambien occlusion baking error

#1

Hello.

I’m having serious problems in baking ambient occlusion in v-ray. I’ve modeled quite complex scene which I would like to bake for Unity.
I have few cylindrical limbs on a flat plane and I’ve made a standard VRayMtl with dirt map in the diffuse slot for them. There is one bitmap for unoccluded color. So nothing fancy about that. But the caps of the cylindrical elements are not rendering correctly. I’ve tried everything I can think of but with no success. Here’s a sample picture attached of the result. As you can see, the caps should be pretty much constant color but they are not. Few of the problem parts are rounded with red circle, but the error is on everyone. Like it uses the faces to occlude or something. (sorry about the english but I guess you know what I mean)

I’m really hoping for some advice on this.

Thanks
Mikko K.

edit: Some more info. I’ve tried this with standard material and the same dirtmap on diffuse and/or self-illumination slots. With lights/default lights on and off, with GI and without, with different image sampling and so on…

I don’t know much about baking ambient occlusion, but i usually remove caps from cylinders and use bridge on edges to make them parallel and avoid that center vertex with million edges coming out of it for better turbosmooth. Maybe it’s same issue? I’d really suggest getting rid of caps with more then 4 vertexes or vertexes with many edges
