V-ray 2.0 Sp1 - AA, did they change something ?!

#1

Hi,
i had a project in a older version of 3ds max (2010) and vray (1.5)
We switched to 2012 and vray 2.0 sp1

and i had to do some modification and i notice on the render the Antialising was very very bad !

As you can see, the parameter are already at 1-3, wich is the usual parameter i use for final render for a animation to make sure i don’t have fliker.

any thought ?

Have you tried using the Adaptive DMC image sampler? It tends to work better overall.

Hmm
i had a vray lightcache file for the GI, didn’t notice. but still doesn’t explain, i have my light in another layer and it was hided.

So unhide the light layer, re-put the single frame lightcache GI and it seem to be way better… but just don’t understand why the light had so much effect on this.

Do you mean the patchiness on the walls there? The lack of detail on the vertical beams?

I think that’s less anti-aliasing and more likely just bad sampling for gi. If you are losing details, check your primary bounce settings.
