Can someone give me a basic explanation of the following :
-
Segment by feature detection vs projection. I can basically see the difference between the two but I’m not sure in what circumstances which is better. I can also select faces and create my own groups and see where that can be advantageous but it doesn’t seem to always work out like I planned it, which brings me to my next question -
-
Continue unfolding vs. projection. Here I’m not sure what the difference is at all. I haven’t really studied it close though but it would be nice to get an explanation.

When would you choose to draw edges/borders on the created texture and when not? From what I can tell it takes a lot longer to go thru and erase the borders but it does provide you with a guide. Not exporting them I guess would be good for simple textures.
Also any tips on rearranging / resizing / rotating the different resulting groups after unfolding/projection would be great. For example, if you’re doing a human body, how would you go about mapping the different body parts?
If anyone has a link to some good simple step by step tutorials to using the UV Mapping tools in Wings please post, because I seem to have trouble finding good information on this somewhat confusing part of the program.
Thanks in advance.
