uv laying inquiry


i wonder in which way i should lay out the uvs of this guitar case body ( tell me if there’s a better way please :slight_smile: )
i’m planing to texture it with substance painter btw


What’s the end goal? High poly or Normal mapped model?

Both methods would be viable, but the 2nd option will introduce an additional seam, so just be creative and hide it behind an hinge or something. Be also prepared to fix some artifacts with projection painting if needed. You also need to take into account how much screenspace / uv space you have left for the rest of the case.
