Uv Issues

I modeled a low res poly model in maya, and exported it to maya… I scultped details in mudbox, then exported to lowest sub-division to unwrap in maya. Unwrapped it in maya, and imported the UV’s into mudbox, the Uv’s are fine at the lowest resolution, but when I got up to then next and high subdividion, they tear apart and go wild! How do I fix this? I tried the re-build UV’s… What I want to do is export a model from sub division 3, and sill have my UV’s…

you could do it also the other way around…
export the old highres as obj…
import the new uved lowres into a new clean scene…
subD it up to the same polycount as your high…
import your old highres as layer…
file --> import as layer
